artist bio

Tweaking reality in my work allows a narrative to start in a familiar place but depart into a dream like atmosphere, leading the viewer into discovery and reflection. By altering formal elements in my environment, I’m able to represent a longing to connect with the natural world as well as the supernatural. Also influencing my work is a continuous struggle of working through grief and a presence of energies we don't see or fully understand.

My subject matter often exists where human activity and the natural world collide. I build my work intuitively and often the final result varies from the initial idea. Murals and large-scale works are a way I’m able to "dance" or physically engage with the paint to immerse the viewer in a world I create. Through my sculptural work I’m able to bring a visceral object into the world and express myself in a more embodied form.
